Today, over Niles, I saw a park helicopter circling Alameda Creek. When I went out there, here is some of what I saw. The Bronco belonged to a guy who, after seeing a couple of robbers leaving a Niles jewelry store who sideswiped his wife's car, followed them, apparently in "hot" pursuit. What followed is a little murky, I'll probably read about it in the paper tomorrow. He somehow ended up in the creek. Some say he was trying to cross the creek to follow them AND almost made it except he couldn't climb the other side. The creek is shallow and the Bronco is a 4-wheel vehicle but... Anyway, I got to watch them pull his vehicle out of the creek. Looks pretty good for what it went through, don't you think?
